Things About Me X 100

  1. Everyone called me Robert until some friends at school began using Rob and the name stuck. Most of my immediate family still calls me Robert.
  2. I originally was going to be called Andrew, but my cousin was called that too, so it was made my second name.
  3. My teenage years were fairly misunderstood.
  4. But I am now a stronger person.
  5. The first family member to fully accept my sexuality was my youngest sister.
  6. I believe I experience emotions with more depth than most people.
  7. I tend to wear many different faces and moods, but I don’t consider any of them fake. There are many shades of Robert from Mr Sarcastic to Mr Empathic.
  8. I used to want to be a pilot. Maybe that explains my love of flying.
  9. I have a good relationship with my parents, and hope I have the same relationship with any children I ever have of my own.
  10. As a child I loved to read the Three Little Pigs.
  11. At school I never got a detention.
  12. I really want a dog, a Golden Retriever; he will probably be named Bertie Von Worcester.
  13. My astrological sign is Pisces. I am exactly what it describes me as.
  14. I have always typed ‘form’ rather than ‘from’. I’m not sure why, it must be down to the pseudo-touch typing that I have developed.
  15. Sometimes I have a poor memory. I remember things in reverse. The past is clear to me, but yesterday is fuzzy.
  16. I remember emotions better than details.
  17. I have dreams every night, and remember at least parts of them most of the time.
  18. I want a tattoo on my arm, and it will look a bit like this.
  19. I have a mark on the side of my face, it looks dark, and the doctor doesn’t know what it is.
  20. I have this patch on my abdomen where it is hairier than the rest. 
  21. Nobody really knows me. But one or two come very close.
  22. I believe in total monogamy.
  23. I am jealous, possessive, and can be demanding.
  24. I don’t like it when people keep secrets from me.
  25. I am good at listening to people’s problems.
  26. I don’t have a political affiliation, though I lean towards the Liberal Democrats. But I don’t vote because I lack any confidence in any party or leader at the moment.
  27. The first car I had was a Mark 4 Ford Escort, it was written off by a Royal Mail lorry going into the back of it.
  28. There is always music playing in the car when I’m driving.
  29. I have an excellent sense of direction, distance, and time.
  30. I don’t believe in war unless it is really justified. I dont beleive there is any such war that is justified right now.
  31. I am determined and ambitious.
  32. I am agnostic, I can’t except or deny the existence of God, but I know I don’t like organised religion.
  33. I grew up in Shropshire. It was quite a sleepy place, but it has some wonderful areas of beauty.
  34. I moved to Manchester for a chance to live a more cosmopolitan lifestyle.
  35. If I were rich, I think I’d have a second home in another country. I don’t know which one yet though.
  36. I have no accent. Well none that is distinctly obvious.
  37. My favourite movie is Trading Places.
  38. I love food; I will eat anything apart from Sushi, and raw tomatoes.
  39. My favourite sandwich filling is Tuna Mayonnaise with Salad.
  40. I don’t like Cherry Coke.
  41. I hate creamy soups and creamy sauces.
  42. If I had my way, Cadbury’s Mini Eggs would be available all year around.
  43. I like the smell of jet fuel.
  44. I am part Spanish, when I am tanned that part looks substantially bigger.  
  45. I have been an IT Consultant for eight years now.
  46. My first job was working in a shop as a sales assistant.
  47. I hated it at the time, but now understand the importance of a hard earned wage and respecting seniors.
  48. You can learn a lot from older people.
  49. I had a fascination with briefcases, until I finally got one and realised they weren’t all that exciting.
  50. I liked model railways when I was younger, I wish I still had one now.
  51. I never did a paper round when I was younger.
  52. My favourite colours are red and blue. You would never know because I use them excessively in my home and work.
  53. I am stubborn about change. But once I am motivated, I go full force.
  54. I like to stick my fingers in hot candle wax. I let it dry on my fingertips and then pop it off to look at my fingerprints.
  55. I can’t whistle, no matter how much I have tried.
  56. I’m not good at remembering birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
  57. My favourite season is spring.
  58. I like the idea of being up early in the morning.
  59. I don’t like the feeling of getting up early in the morning.
  60. I relax by watching Family Guy, The Simpsons and American Dad.
  61. My favourite TV series of all time was the X-Files, though I became disappointed in its last two seasons.  
  62. I used to be totally against blogging.
  63. Broadcasting my innermost feelings to the world was an unbearable thought.
  64. Blogging is now a daily pleasure.
  65. I have never felt so honest and free.
  66. I was anti-social a lot when I was a teenager. I often felt I lack confidence which fed this perfectly.
  67. I was also a bit of a geek, and I think I still am a bit now.
  68. I am a better person now. I am stronger and confident. But sometimes I can allow people to bring me down.
  69. I still go back to my hometown. 
  70. I’ve lost touch with everyone I grew up with at school.
  71. I pay my bills as soon as I get them in the mail.
  72. Yet I’m a huge procrastinator.
  73. I like to finish things; I am what is known as a “completer-finisher”.
  74. I take great pleasure in refilling things, like salt shakers and liquid hand soap dispensers.
  75. I am obsessive about having clean hands.
  76. I HAVE to wash my hands right before I eat, and wipe down my keyboard and mouse often.
  77. Many people do not wash their hands after going to the toilet. This disturbs me.
  78. I do not bite my nails or pick at my cuticles. The sound of someone chomping on their nails irritates me.
  79. My favourite stores are Selfridges, Game, Waterstones, HMV and Body Shop.
  80. My favourite e-commerce site is Amazon.
  81. I am a PC addict. I love buying a new PC whenever I can afford it.
  82. I never thought I’d be a Mac person, but I’m getting there.
  83. There are times when I’m so engrossed in an activity that eating or sleeping are chores. The activity often involves computers. 
  84. My web browser of choice is Mozilla Firefox.
  85. I love a nice cup of Earl Grey tea whenever I fancy a hot drink.
  86. I don’t like alcohol as much as I used to. It makes me fat.
  87. I have a pet peeve about people using “your” instead of “you’re”.
  88. I don’t smoke, and I’ve never used drugs.
  89. I prefer the toilet paper to roll off the top.
  90. I leave both the toilet seat and the cover down.
  91. I am not obsessed with the toilet. 
  92. I like to make people laugh.
  93. I sleep silently.
  94. I have full use of both hands (Ambidextrous).
  95. I am actually left handed though. 
  96. I find excessive use of exclamation marks annoying.
  97. When I’m tasked with something repetitive or monotonous I find the most efficient way to complete it, often testing different strategies to speed up the process.
  98. I’m not mentioning things I’ve never done in this list, because until I’m dead, I still might do them.
  99. I’m a perfectionist. Really, that should be at the top of this list.
